Happy Halloween!

Today, we went to the Halloween party at Imaginary Forces. Peter was really excited to change into his costume.

Before Peter could make his debut at the party, he had to have a snack. He felt right at home with the photo calendar of Myshka hanging above his dad's desk.

Just about ready for the party...

Here we are with Amy and her son, Brady, who is 11 days older than Peter.

It was a great party with a costume contest, a ping pong tournament, food & drinks. Halloween is also Imaginary Forces' birthday. This year, the company is 13 years old. Here are the owners, Chip and Peter, making a speech.

Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater

Today was the Halloween party at Babygroup. Here's Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater in his costume. On the left are Oliver, the Panda and Bode, another pumpkin. Eyal is on the right in the bumble bee costume. Pretty cute.

Uh oh... you may notice a pumpkin about to start crying...

Here are all the babies in a circle. Check out the hot dog.

And here are all the babies and moms. Just in case you can't spot us, Peter and I are in the front row on the left side. We both really love this group!

Silverlake Resevoir

Today, Peter and I went for a walk around the Silverlake Reservoir with Courtney. It was a nice day and a good walk.

Look at that smile. Peter loves Silverlake & Courtney.

Story Time

At night, before Peter goes to bed, his dad reads him a book. Peter loves looking at the pictures.

Peter's favorite book is "Big Red Barn". It's good preparation for his upcoming trip to Iowa and Nebraska.

Savoring the Moment

Today, Peter fell asleep while leaning up against me. It doesn't look comfortable, does it?

I didn't want to wake him, so I just hung out with him like that for an hour and a half. Luckily, my phone was within reach and I took these pictures.

New Friends, New Tricks

Peter has a couple of new friends. Eyal (in the middle) and Camden (on the right) and their moms are in Babygroup with Peter and me. We went for a nice walk along the ocean in Santa Monica on Monday before class.

Peter has also been practicing tummy time to build core strength -- sort of like Pilates for babies -- and also to make sure the back of his head doesn't get flat from all the time on his back. He doesn't like it too much, but he is getting much better at it.

Morning Routine

As the weeks go by, a morning routine has started to emerge. First, Peter naps while I drink coffee.

In the meantime, Myshka checks her email and updates her Catster page.

When Peter wakes up, he plays with his dad while I get dressed.

Chimney Sweep

I don't know why, but as soon as I put this outfit on Peter, I couldn't help but think that he looked like a chimney sweep.

I think it's the hat.

Peter Goes to the Park 2

It's been cold and rainy here for several days. Today, it's finally nice. 90 degrees, in fact. So, Peter and I decided to go to the same park where Ben and I took him on his first trip outside our home. You can read about that trip here.

He was dressed much more appropriately this time.

Here is a self portrait of the two of us. Yes, I am wearing a Clippers t-shirt.

And finally, a video where Peter tries to explain how much he likes being at the park.

Visitors

This week has been a fun one with some out of town guests. First, Peter got to meet his Great Aunt Debbie at cousin Mac's apartment in Culver City.

Then, we got a visit from the Uitenbroeks who were in town celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary. Peter was happy to finally meet Lynsey.

Peter Goes to the Doctor

Today was Peter's two month doctor's appointment. Before we left, he was a little skeptical...

Peter is growing so much! Here he is getting weighed and measured.

He's 23 1/4 inches now. At birth, he was 21 inches. He's so lanky... just like his mom.

He weighs almost 12 pounds now. 11 pounds, 13.6 ounces to be exact.

After that, the not-so-fun part. Shots. Peter was great. His dad handled it worse than he did.

All in all, a pretty good appointment.

Pumpkin Patch

Today, we took Peter to Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch right around the corner from our house.

I can't tell you how many people stopped to look when I put him on the ground and propped him up against the pumpkins. I don't know if they were thinking, "I should report that mom to child protective services" or "What a cute baby!" I hope it was the latter.

Ta Da!

Here it is... Peter smiling! And also frowning...

Please excuse my singing voice.

A Visit to the Office

Today, Peter went to visit his dad at work. He met lots of other people, too. Here's Peter meeting another Peter. The two Peters really hit it off. That's Peter Frankfurt, our boss, on the right, and our friend, Brian on the left.

Here's Michelle and Brett. On a scale of 1 to 10, how uncomfortable does Brett look? 11?

After seeing everyone at the office, we went out for lunch. Thai food makes Peter sleepy.

Babygroup

Today was our first day of Babygroup in Santa Monica. It was a great group of a dozen moms and babies that are all Peter's age. In fact, he is one of three boys born on August 11. The class was really interesting, too. I wanted to take a million pictures so that everyone could see what it was like, but since I don't know anyone yet, I decided not to be that crazy girl who takes pictures of people she doesn't know for her blog. So... instead I took a picture of Peter. Sleeping.

Notice the outfit and the blanket. It took a lot of thought to put together the perfect combo to make the right first impression. I was going for confident, cool and classy. What do you think?

Learning to take direction

Peter smiles a lot, except when we turn on the cameras. Here's a video of him almost smiling...

And a couple of photos of him also not smiling, but trying to...
