Go, Clippers!

A couple of weeks ago, Ben and I accidentally won two courtside tickets to a Los Angeles Clippers basketball game at a fundraiser for Peter's preschool. We had no intention of winning the tickets. We only bid on them because there were no other bids on the package, yet, and we felt pressure to participate in the silent auction at the event. Also, they had been serving us wine.

Anyway... last night was the game and WOW, I couldn't believe the fancy star treatment we received. I felt like a celeb. I can't even put into words how happy Ben was.

Included in our ticket package was a valet parking pass. This is where we parked, literally at the front door of the Staples Center. Amazing!

Next, we went to the Lexus Club, (which I didn't even know existed until last night),

And enjoyed a delicious dinner on an outdoor terrace before the game.

This is me holding our game tickets. Why the weird face? Not sure. I was excited, I guess.

This is the view of the area surrounding the Staples Center from our dinner table.

Our seats were ON THE COURT. Wowwow!

Our tickets also gave us admission to the Porsche Courtside Club, a cool lounge where we hung out with the other fancy people during halftime.

Ok, so maybe the guy in the State Farm t-shirt is not that fancy, but some of the other people were!

I don't even remember who the Clippers played, but it was a fun, fun, fun experience that I'll probably never have again.

Next year, we are bidding on a spa package at the silent auction.

A Small Update

Sorry for the blogging hiatus. Our life is not that exciting, but somehow the days get really busy with things like

tree climbing...

sliding...

... and cookie baking.

I think Peter liked the cookies.

And here are a few more pictures from Clara's birthday.

Peter and Clara's friend, Alexandra, gave Clara her first baby doll. So sweet!

Happy Birthday, Clara!

Yummy!

Happy Birthday, Clara Jane

This little girl is one year old today.

Here she is doing her signature tongue-sticking-out-sideways move.

What's up, Michael Jordan?

"Excuse me while I climb this table."

"And you thought I wouldn't be able to climb up here in a dress."

She can walk! Almost.

Happy Birthday, sweet Clara!

Daredevil

Clara is a climber. Peter was, too, but he would mostly just climb the chairs and couch in the living room. He got a few goose eggs, like this one.

Clara climbs up on the tables, the toilets (sorta gross) and anything else she can find. The reason the video below is so short is because we had to catch her before she launched herself backwards onto the floor.

It's terrifying.

Just Another Wednesday Morning

I knew Peter was playing a little too quietly this morning.

I found him in my bathroom, red lipstick in hand.

"Hmmm, just a little more around the eyes, I think."

You look beautiful, Peter.

Clara was a little sad that she missed out on the fun.

Next time, Clara, I promise.

"Do you think I'll look pretty in pink?"

Field Trip

Today, Peter and I went on a field trip to the Natural History Museum to see the dinosaurs and other cool things.

Before our friends arrived, we sat outside and waited and Peter practiced some poses for the camera. What do you think of this one: Mr. Serious Museum Guy?

Friends!

These two ragamuffins kept going past the boundaries in the museum. Here they are on the wrong side of the velvet rope.

And way beyond the railing in front of the antelope diorama.

Here's Peter just casually observing a GIGANTIC TARANTULA!

"High five, Lauren!"

"Oh, wow. Is that what you do after a high five at your house?"

By far, the coolest part was this gigantic statue jungle-gym.

One of Peter's favorite friends, Alexandra.

"Let's hug it out."

Sadly, Clara, the drooliest, drippiest girl in town, wasn't able to go to the museum.

She did get to go to Urgent Care, though.

No worries, it's just another cold / cough / fever at the Apley house. When is cold season over again?

Stickers

The pink eye infection is (knock on wood) long gone from our house. Thankfully, we'll always have this video to remind us of what it is like to wake up and not be able to open your eyes.
