Peter Visits Santa

Today, we heard a rumor that Santa Claus was visiting a mall near us, The Grove.

We got there before Santa did, so we waited in line.

Waiting...

And waiting...

More waiting...

Check out Peter's cute outfit for Santa. You won't see it in the actual Santa photo.

Finally! We got to see Santa. It was totally worth the wait. Can't you tell?

Thanksgiving 2010: A Day of Thanks and Parks

We kicked off Thanksgiving yesterday with Ben's homemade pumpkin pie for breakfast. Yum!

Particularly delicious with a side of Cheerios.

After breakfast, we went to a really fun park called Aiden's Place.

There is tons of stuff to do there, and Peter had a great time checking everything out.

"What's over there?!"

Walking with his dad.

After Peter's nap, we went to another park closer to our house.

This park has sand.

Lots of sand.

And Peter loves sand.

By the time we left, Peter had sand EVERYWHERE. Can you see it inside his ear? Neat.

When we got home (and cleaned up), Peter and his dad watched some cartoons.

Peter also helped load the dishwasher. Thanks, Mister!

I carved our turkey breast.

And set the table.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner.

It was really delicious!

Even Peter liked it.

The best part? Beginning and ending the day with pumpkin pie.

The Playground of the Future

Peter came to visit me at work the other day. The building where I work is brand new, super cool and has this really neat park right across the street.

It is sort of like the Playground of the Future, don't you think?

I really, really, really didn't want to walk in the sand. Peter really, really did.

"What is this place?!"

I had no idea what this big silver ball was for, but Peter discovered that it spins around. Awesome!

There is also a pond with some ducks. Very cool, and very hard to keep Peter out of the water.

Hats

Peter got a surprise new hat from Grandma Dorothy. Look at that Mister Cool in his high chair.

Please ignore the giant finger in this photo.

Here's Peter in another hat that Nonnie gave him.

It's red with a football on it for Nebraska. Notice that it's tough to get a picture of Peter that is not blurry now that he is on the move all the time.

What do you think of your hat, Peter?

New Shoes!

Today, we went to this cool store in Beverly Hills to buy Peter his first pair of shoes.

You might think it's kind of weird that Peter is almost 15 months old and didn't have shoes until today, but we have done pretty well with soft shoes or socks, and I wasn't really looking forward to the expense of buying real shoes every couple of months. Now that he is walking all over the place, I figured it was finally time to bite the bullet and get this little boy some shoes!

You can see there was quite a selection.

Peter waited patiently for someone to come help us.

This nice woman was so helpful. Here she is measuring Peter's little feet.

Looks like a size 5 to me.

Here's an assortment of the shoes we tried.

The white Adidas sneakers were classics, but a little too summery. Maybe another time.

Peter tried some others in darker colors.

Afterwards, we went to the park to try out the new shoes.

"I love my shoes, Mom! I can't even stop walking long enough to let you take a picture of me."

Super cool, right?
