Current Events

We're having a lot of fun getting used to being a family of four. Here's what's been going on this week...

Clara is spending more time awake. Now, if I can just figure out a way to make that time be during the day, we'll be all set. Suggestions, anyone?

Clara had her two week doctor appointment and now weighs 8 pounds and 4 ounces, which is 5 ounces more than her birth weight. Nice job, Clara!

Peter still loves sand...

...And slides.

He tried, unsuccessfully, to send himself priority mail.

He spent some quality time with his stuffed animals. Nice raccoon hat, mister.

And... drum roll... Myshka is cured of her kitty anorexia! Her feeding tube was removed last week. Hooray! She's a happy cat.

Visitors

Peter and Clara have had some really fun visitors. First, Nonnie and Moe came from Iowa. It was great to have them here!

A sweet little girl and her Nonnie.

Nonnie gave Clara a beautiful outfit, so we did a little photo shoot one day.

Looking a tiny bit uncomfortable... Sorry, Clara.

Check out those piano player hands.

Clara and Peter's Grandma Dorothy is here now. Lucky kiddos.

They love hanging out with Dad, too.

Clara Comes Home

Clara came home from the hospital on Thursday. We enjoyed a little bit of quiet time before checking out.

Clara had a special outfit picked out for the drive home.

Ready to go!

When we got home, Peter wanted to know how he could help.

He was very interested... For about 1 minute.

Then, it was time to try on hats with Nonnie.

And play with cars (and remote controls) with Moe.

Happy to be home!

Family of Four

She's here! Clara Jane Apley arrived at 2:43pm on Monday, March 14 2011. She weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces (one ounce bigger than her brother) and measured 20 1/2 inches long. She is just perfect.

Here we are getting our first glimpse of her.

Clara has the best dad in the world.

Nonnie was very excited to meet Clara, too.

She's a very sweet little girl.

And she sleeps a lot... Thank goodness.

Peter came to the hospital to meet her.

Between the cool bed and all of the other gadgets in the room, I'm not sure he even noticed the baby.

"Hey Mom, can I press that red button again?"

"How about a quick game of peek-a-boo?"

We are so thankful for Clara's safe, happy and healthy arrival, and we are looking forward to getting settled in at home as a family of four.

He's Still an Only Child

Here are some assorted pics from Peter's last weekend as an only child.

He tried out the Moses basket in the living room.

"Do I fit?"

He showed off his yoga moves.

Bath time! Hooray!

He hung out with friends. Thanks for coming over, Anita!

And spent quality time with Myshka.

What a great weekend!

Wardrobe Issues

We've had some wardrobe issues at our house recently.

Poor Myshka... We needed something for her to wear to keep her feeding tube close to her body. The vet suggested getting a t-shirt for a Chihuahua.

I don't think he meant a red cheerleading outfit with bones on it. How humiliating.

This is how we found Peter the other morning in his crib.

Looks like he was trying to remove his pajamas like he did here.

Afternoon at the Park

Yesterday, we went to the park. Peter liked sitting on this little bench.

His friend, Alexandra, came to join him.

Hugs!

Accessorizing

Peter has a new coat and a new airplane backpack. Here are some pics on the walk to day care.

"Hey guys. Check me out."

The backpack is just about as big as Peter.

What a cute boy!
