If Peter had been a Girl...

I think he would have looked something like this...

I have been looking for a sun hat for Peter, and I found this one the other day at H&M. I thought red would be a more boy-ish choice than the other pastel options. Have you ever seen a less masculine looking hat? I think it just might have something to do with the bow under his chin.

Seems like Peter doesn't care much for the hat anyway...

Dinner Party

Last night, our friends, Jacquey and Eric, invited us over to their house for dinner. This is the same couple who had the 4th of July BBQ that we arrived one day late for. They were nice to want to have us over again after that.

Their son, Zack, is 5 1/2 months old.

Jacquey is from Chicago, so Peter wanted to impress her with his Cubs shirt.

This is what the boys did while we enjoyed dinner. Fun!

When Cows Wake-up in the Morning...

When Peter and I took the Story Time class at the Beverly Hills Library, one of the songs we learned was, "When cows wake-up in the morning, they always say 'Good Day'. 'Moooo, Moooo!' That's how cows say 'Good Day'." We sing it all the time now with all of the animals in our house, including Myshka, even though I'm pretty sure "Good Day" is not what she has in mind when she sees Peter.

This morning, we were singing the song and Peter crawled over to his rocking cow toy and pulled himself up and onto it. Yay, Peter!

Party Time!

This weekend, Peter was invited to another birthday party for his friend, Jordan, who just turned one. We had so much fun at the park with the fun music and toys.

Other kids banged on the drums.

Peter climbed them.

Peter loved seeing his friends. This is Alexandra and her mom.

And this is Ryan, who shares the same birthday as Peter, with his mom.

After the party, we went to the park by our house.

Peter showed Grandma how to spin the wheel.

And how to go crawl through the tunnel.

"Anyone want to join me?"

"Hello!"

Peter gets really excited about the swings.

We also played in the sand.

Our trip to the park ended the way it usually does... after Peter shoveled a few handfuls of sand in his mouth. Time to go, Mister.

Hooray for Grandma!

This weekend, Grandma Dorothy is visiting from Nebraska. Peter really wanted to show her Rodeo Drive.

He insisted on posing in front of the fountains.

Next, we went shopping and out for lunch.

Exhausting stuff...

Later, we went out for the most delicious dinner at Street. Peter's dinner came in a jar.

And dinner for the adults looked something like this. Yum!

It was such a fun place!

Birthday Party in the Park

All of the babies in Peter's babygroup are turning 1 this summer, so we have lots of birthday parties on our calendar. On Saturday, we went to Eyal's birthday at a fun park in Santa Monica.

Here is the birthday boy with his parents.

Some musicians came to the party and played songs and sang with the kids. Peter wanted to have make sure he had a maraca in each hand.

He wasn't quite sure what to do with the tambourine.

Here's another babygroup friend, Dylan, and her mom.

One of these days, Peter will learn how to clap.

Another babygroup friend, Tatum, with her mom. She is the youngest of the group. Her birthday is at the end of the summer.

More babygroup friends. Anna and her mom are in the front, and the birthday boy, Eyal, and his mom are in back.

Peter and Alexandra with their dads. Why so serious, guys?

Mr. Swimmer Sand Eater

Peter has been taking swimming lessons at the West Hollywood pool this past week. This is the pool. Sorry... there are no pictures of the actual lesson. I was too busy trying to teach Peter how to blow bubbles to take pictures.

Self-portrait waiting for our lesson to begin. How excited does Peter look?

Here is Peter waiting patiently to get in the pool. It was so cold and a little rainy. Maybe that's why he's so serious... He's probably wondering why in the world I would make him swim in this weather. It brought back a lot of memories of swim team when I was a kid... having to get to the pool really early in the morning, freezing cold, watching the steam come off the water because it was warmer than the air around it. Good times.

Afterwards, we went to the park and Peter headed immediately to the sand. He put a fistful in his mouth before I was able to get him.

How does that sand taste, Peter? Yuk!
