West Hollywood Book Fair

On Sunday, we went to the West Hollywood Book Fair. It was just down the street at our favorite park.

These kids are performing a fairy tale. Maybe Peter will perform in this one day. He does an excellent dragon impersonation.

There are some super cool Moms in our neighborhood. After I took this picture, the woman in the pink tights kept watching me. Do you think she knew I was going to be posting her on my blog?

The best part of the fair was the petting zoo.

Peter got to pet these bunnies.

He was so gentle and nice to them. What a good boy.

Tape Shoes

Last weekend, our friend, Brian, had a yard sale at his house. Since our house is beginning to overflow with toys and clothes of Peter's that he has outgrown, we loaded up the car and brought a few contributions to the sale.

Here we are lounging with a few of the big ticket items -- fancy lawn chairs and a toy robot. Do you see the guy in the background enthusiastically giving a thumbs up behind the ironing board? That's Brian.

I got a little too into the excitement of the sale and literally sold the shoes off of Peter's feet to nice lady for $1. Oops. Sorry, Peter. Thank goodness for Brian. He made these shoes out of tape for Peter to wear.

Pretty cool, huh?

Afterwards, we celebrated our yard sale winnings over lunch with Kevin...

Brian and Michelle...

and trains at the table. Fun day!

Children's Garden

Last week, Peter started going to day care at a neat place in our neighborhood called Children's Garden Playhouse.

It is only two blocks from our house, a nice walk in the morning.

He has been having a great time there, playing with the other kids and the teachers. Here is Miss Olivia with the kids in the morning. Peter adores her.

"This place is so fun!"

A Lot Happens in a Year

I should have done this post on August 11, when Peter turned 1, but I suppose a month late is not bad.

August 11, 2009

One month old.

Two months old. Pumpkin patch. What will it be like when we go to the pumpkin patch this year? Do you think Peter will let me prop him up among the pumpkins?

Three months old. Tummy time.

Four months old.

Five months old.

Six months old.

Seven months old.

Eight months old. Must have something in mouth at all times.

Ten months old.

Eleven months old.

Twelve months old!

What a year!

Nebraska Recap

We flew on the smallest plane ever from Denver to Kearney. There were only 18 seats and the pilots weren't separated from the cabin. We could see right out the front windows!

We made it safely to Kearney. Whew.

The next day, we took Peter to the Kearney Children's Museum. It was so nice! Here is Peter trying to choose which car to ride in. The pink princess car is pretty tempting...

But in the end, he chose the police car. Fun!

Peter wanted to demonstrate how well he can push things.

Playing with Grandma.

Later that day, we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Bob's for dinner. Here's Simon playing with Grandma. Madeline, in the red shirt, is Bob's oldest granddaughter. She is about to start 1st grade.

Bob grilled delicious burgers and hot dogs.

Peter hung out with Uncle Mitch for a while.

Peter and his cousin, Simon, were vying for Grandma's attention.

After dinner, I took Peter back to the hotel for bedtime and the guys stayed to enjoy cigars and drinks. This is Mike, (who is married to Bob's daughter, Abby), Bob and Bob's son, Pete.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how cool are these two brothers?

How about now?

The picture above was taken on Saturday morning at Hilltop Mall where Dorothy and Bob and their Tango friends staged a Tango Flash Mob. Ben and Mitch recorded it for You Tube.

The dancers just pretended they were shopping until Bob started the music and then all of a sudden couples emerged from different stores and spots in the mall and started tangoing. It was very cool to watch.

There are Dorothy and Bob right in the middle.

Who's that guy with the video camera? Looking good!

Peter slept through the whole thing. Thank goodness cousin Noah was there to keep an eye on him.

Since it was the first Nebraska football game of the season and we were in a mall with lots of sports stores, we bought Peter a Nebraska Blackshirts t-shirt. Here he is with Noah and Simon in all of their Nebraska gear. Go Big Red!

Later that night, there was a big party at Dorothy and Bob's. It was a beautiful night with fun party guests, delicious food and great wine.

In fact, it was such a fun party that I forgot to take any other pictures. Maybe Uncle Mitch can send me some to post?

Expert Traveler

We just got back to LA from a really fun weekend in Kearney, Nebraska with Ben's mom. I have lots of great pictures to post, and I promise to do that soon, but first I wanted to post this video of Peter making his way through the Denver airport. It was a good thing we had 3 hours to get from our LA gate to the Kearney gate.

If You Ever Need a Pedicure in Nebraska...

...Nails Unlimited in Kearney, NE is the place to go. I have never in my life been anywhere like it. We are in Kearney for the holiday weekend with Ben's mom for a fun party and some other festivities. The celebration began on Thursday night with a pedicure party.

Have you ever seen so many pedicure chairs in one place?

"Cheers!"

This is the person who did my pedicure, flourishes and all. Seriously.

Final product. Check out those flourishes! Not bad, huh?
