Wedding Fun

This weekend, we were in Kansas City for a really fun wedding. My cousin, Mac, married an amazing girl, Silke. She will fit in perfectly with my crazy family.

The festivities started with a Welcome Party on Friday night.

The bride and groom welcomed all of their guests. And there were a lot!



If you know my mom, you will not be surprised by this picture. She and my aunts performed at the party. What in the world...? Am I too old to be embarrassed by mother?

The day of the wedding, Ben's dad and Pam drove down from Nebraska to see the kids. We were so glad to get to see them on our trip, too!



My little Mister was the ring bearer in the wedding. Despite being somewhat concerned that the flower girl was dropping flowers, he did an amazing job! I was so proud.

The next day was a BBQ and the cousins were so glad to see each other.




We tried for a photo op of the kids with my parents, but were not terribly successful.



Lots of people tell me that Peter looks like my brother. What do you think?

Strawberry Festival

Since there is almost nothing our family loves more than strawberries, today we went to the annual Strawberry Festival in Oxnard, CA. 

We kicked things off on the right foot by starting our day in the Make-Your-Own Strawberry Shortcake tent. 

Peter probably should have just asked for a bowl of whipped cream. 

Clara was dressed appropriately for the day in her strawberry dress. Several people asked us if she was going to compete in the fashion show in the afternoon. Hmmm... Do you think Clara is the Toddlers & Tiaras type? 

There was a cool Kids' Zone with fun rides, like this alligator roller coaster. 

Peter LOVED it. 

Clara, on the other hand, preferred to observe.

Happy Mother's Day

Mom's Day

Today was Mom's Day at Peter's school. The day started with breakfast for all of the moms. Then, we went down to the classrooms where we got to do all sorts of activities like bracelet making, lima bean planting and tote bag decorating. Peter had also made a sweet card and gift for me. It was a great day!
